WELCOME TO THE NEST
The New England School of Therapeutics (NEST) is the culmination of a fifteen year vision based on the experiences of students, teachers, and practitioners of manual therapies, as well as working administrators of massage institutions and yoga schools, and acting and former board members and liaisons within the complementary and alternative medical profession. These experiences have provided us with a unique perspective on the many ways in which therapeutics can be taught, learned, and practiced.
Manual Therapeutics is an ever growing and expanding profession drawing interests from people who are looking for a more balanced way of living. We see manual therapists as cornerstones of the Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) movement, as more and more people are looking to these professionals for guidance towards balanced holistic health. One of the problems facing today's professionals is how to balance workload with self-care as 70 - 80% of the professionals burn out before their 5th year of work. At The NEST we are committed to teaching adequate wellness practices using the wisdom methods of Ayurveda and Yoga to help the students, and their eventual clients, maintain a healthy life and professional practice for many years to come. We look forward to sharing the art, history, theory and practice of manual therapeutics, as well as real-world expectations of what the profession has to offer, and we invite you to join us in our efforts to bring these ancient healing modalities to the people who are interested and ready to receive them.
In addition to self-care, The NEST curriculum places a particular emphasis on myofascial anatomy and the manual techniques needed to competently work with this tissue. As more science emerges about the implications of fascia in physical, mental and emotional trauma and injury, we believe that this portion of our training is necessary to properly prepare our graduates for the needs of the clients that will one day come to them for treatment. Another area of emphasis in our training program is in the treatment of acute and chronic soft-tissue injuries, and injury and surgical rehabilitation. As an Official Sponsor of The New England Freejacks - a professional rugby team in Quincy, MA - our students have the unique opportunity to work with these professional athletes during the course of their training, which provides them with direct and "real world" experiences working on the most common injuries that arise as a result of physical activity.

What Recent graduates have to say about The NEST
~ "Please come back. You are welcome here. This is your NEST. I gave you safe haven. I forged you in fire. I softened around you. I gave hard edges upon which willfulness was broken into compassion. You are not the children who passed through my doors at the dawn of a tumultuous year. You will never be the same. Sooner or later you will return, but not as you left. Not in title, stature, or being. You will be greeted with curiosity and respect, from those reminiscent of a younger self. In you they'll see the possibility of their commitment. Encourage them to trust the process, and allow them to find the way. Remember what I have taught, and that I'm your touchstone too. Take a small piece of me wherever you are (figuratively of course . . . ), and hold those you shared this time with as precious. Go in peace, spread the love . . . "
~ "I didn't even realize how badly I needed this program! Thank you so much for being patient . . . and helping me to become the best version of myself."
~ "Thank you for the wonderful experience I've had learning the art of massage. I recognize and appreciate how special and singular (this school's) methods are, which bring together myofascial work with much ancient wisdom like yoga and Ayurvedic Medicine. I knew (this) training was going to be great, but the experience far exceeded my expectations. It has been extraordinary and enriching, not only in the ways I will now be able to serve clients, but also in a very personal way; completing this training has changed me for the better."
